Most of our Boiler Installations in Glasgow are Combi Boilers. However, there are plenty of other options available and depending on your needs and specifications of the property, one of the other options may be a better fit for you. Be sure to look at our Boiler Types when choosing your boiler. This will give you a quick guide as to what you want to look for when get a new boiler installation.
Getting a New Boiler Installation
When you are getting a new Boiler Installation, we will discuss your needs and wishes about getting your new boiler and ask some questions. Sometimes if you know what you need, this can be done over the phone. Other times you may want a qualified Heating Engineer to visit you and survey the site. Questions we would ask you or that the Boiler Engineer would look for while on site would be as follows:-
- Is this to replace as existing boiler?
- Is this a first time Boiler Installation?
- Do you have a gas supply or do you want an electric, oil or solar boiler?
- Do you want a Combi Boiler, Traditional Boiler, System Boiler, Condensing Boiler etc… For more information on these types of boilers, please look at our page on Choosing Your Boiler.
- Is your gas supply adequate to supply the needs of your boiler and your household?
- Where is Your Boiler Currently Positionsed (If Replacing a Boiler)?
- Where is Your Flue?
- How many people are in your household?
- How much water do you use (at the same time)?
From here, we can get an overall picture about your needs for your property.
We would then give you some options about which boiler types are available to you and what are your best options. For example, you wouldn’t need a 40Kw boiler to heat a 1 bedroom flat when a 25Kw would be more than adequate. Also, some boiler brands demand certain requirements such as 18mm gas piping or the boiler cannot be situated in a wet room.
Once all your options are available to you, we will give you a Boiler Installation Quote.
Boiler Installation Quote
With this information, we can narrow down your options to 1-3 boilers which will form the basis for your Boiler Installation Quote. They may all have different features, warranties, manufacturers etc. You can then make your choice depending on price, manufacturer, warranty, size, capacity space available etc… We will give you a budget, mid-range and expensive option and you can decide what suits you best with the new information you now have and the budget available to you.
If this all seems overwhelming then your local boiler engineer will advise you on what your best option is. We have years of experience in dealing with Boiler Installations and can ease your decision making process when it comes to a big purchase like a boiler installation cost.

As it involves gas, then it is paramount that your boiler is installed by a Gas Safe heating engineer. In the UK, approximately one person a week dies from carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon Monoxide is odourless and therefore very difficult to detect but you can easily fit a Carbon Monoxide detector in your home to alert you to this danger and it will raise an alarm in the same way that a smoke detector would. Also remember, if you do smell gas then call British Gas emergency number on 0800 111 999. Open all doors and windows and wait in a safe place away from the smell for the Emergency Gas Team to arrive.
